Kiefer Sutherland - Not Enough Whiskey

The rumors are true! Actor Kiefer Sutherland has joined the world of Country Music!

Kiefer Sutherland's long anticipated Americana-tinged album, Down In A Hole, is set for release in 2016. Kiefer's debut track, "Not Enough Whiskey," will hit iTunes April 8.

"If I hear about an actor doing a music project, my eyes are the first to roll," he tells Rolling Stone. "It's been done before and, on some levels, not very well. A lot of actors make records but won't tour to support them or make videos, and it ends up not being serious. I felt strongly that this was something I wanted to do."

Today, the actor, who will be presenting at the ACM Awards this year, proves just how genuine he is in his ambitions by releasing a music video for "Not Enough Whiskey." He financed the clip himself — "I wanted something that was personal and traveling," he says — so he and his songwriting partner Jude Cole found a motel where they could film one long shot, through a parking lot and into a bar. It's a video that purposefully showcases Sutherland, who didn't want to "hide behind a band," to prove his commitment to being a musical artist.

Freak icon Leigh Bowery’s deliberately offensive art-punk performance art

Many can appreciate original music and stage performance. Only few can appreciate artists who go  above and beyond artistic expression.

Artists such as G.G. Allin can invoke intrigue and disgust all in one shot.

In the early 1990's, when bands such as Oasis and Pulp were being brought to the U.S airwaves, a band name Minty was born in London.

Fronted by Leigh Bowery, Minty was an obscure, fashionista/club kid/performance art, musical combo. Think The Cramps meets Butthole Surfers meets Culture Club meets B52's.

Strange Musical Instruments Never Seen Before - Man Invents Hundreds of them

This is what you get when you create art and music...

An Anarchestra is an orchestra of over two hundred unique musical instruments built (with a few exceptions) by Andy Thurlow and Alex Ferris,  an American musician, composer, and theorist.

These instruments have been created to explore alternative timbres, tunings, and methods of playing, and are set up as an interactive art installation that the public gets to play. These instruments can be tuned all to the same key making it hard to hit the wrong notes.

You don't have to be a good musician to play these!

SXSW 2016 Keynote: Tony Visconti

Tony Visconti has built a truly prolific career over the last 40-plus years, having produced hit songs “(Bang A Gong) Get It On” by T. Rex, “Your Wildest Dreams” by the Moody Blues, and David Bowie masterpieces like “Young Americans,” “Heroes,” and “The Man Who Sold the World.” His collaborations also extend to Angelique Kidjo, legendary Irish rock bands Thin Lizzy and U2, and more.

He most recently co-produced Bowie’s final album, Blackstar; and was a keynote speaker at SXSW 2016, where he described a vision of the music industry's future. Calling himself "The Ghost of Christmas Future" and reading an earnest, self-penned short story making it clear that he believes the music industry is in jeopardy.

BCR LA is proud to present, the 37th release from Black Country Rock, Billy Don Burns "A Night in Room 8"

BCR LA is proud to present, the 37th release from Black Country Rock, Billy Don Burns "A Night in Room 8"
"Billy Don Burns came up with the best. The minute he hit Nashville he was collaborating with Harlan Howard, Willie Nelson, Wanda Jackson and writing hit songs for Connie Smith and others. Considered a friend to the greats in country music, Billy Don has always been one of those rare songwriters who shined in the Dylan/Kristofferson light of honesty and grit.

Billy Don Burns has danced on the razor's edge of between literary prophecy and addiction with turns on the run, in rehab and in jail, but in the last year Billy Don has turned it all around and turned a new page of his life.

Mazurkiewicz is the Dexter of Heavy Metal Lyrics

The Phoenix New Times did a great story today....it was about the re-resurgence of Death Metal greats, Cannibal Corpse! They are playing this Friday, March 11, at Club Red in Mesa, AZ, and coming to your town soon!!!

"The legendary purveyors of the deepest, darkest, dead body-desecrating music ever created, Cannibal Corpse (of Tampa, Florida by way of Buffalo, New York), are headlining the most completely ridiculous lineup ever with Obituary (also from Tampa); Canada’s heaviest death dealers, Cryptopsy; and Abysmal Dawnfrom Los Angeles opening the show."

"None of the bands on this bill are for the weak at heart, whether you like your death metal played with the technical precision usually reserved for the most intense neurosurgery, or if you like your lyrics to be about neurosurgery gone bad. If hearing a large, sweaty man dressed mostly in black scream about eating a heaping slab of maggot-infused brain matter is not appealing to you, you might want to stay away from Mesa this weekend."

Wintergatan - Marble Machine (music instrument using 2000 marbles)

When Swedish musician Martin Molin set out to make a musical instrument that runs on marbles, he figured it would only take a couple of months. The process turned out to be a little more complicated than he initially anticipated. Now, more than a year later, Molin has finally unveiled his finished piece: an enormous hand-made music box, powered by a manual crank, which makes music by using about 2,000 metal marbles.

Watch Behemoth on FreqsTV Talking About the Visual Aspects Of Their Live Show And Expounding On How Music Venues Ask For A Piece Of Merch Sales

"On the road with Behemoth! Bassist Orion talks about the loyalty they have with their crew, the visual aspect of the bands live show and the unfortunate new trend that some venues expect a cut of the merchandise sales.

You are watching, Anchors to Asphalt, an extreme metal tour documentary series. The series, presented by Decibel (http://decibelmagazine.com) features Behemoth, Soilwork and Fear Factory."

"I was, three nights ago, counting everything that we need to leave in the venue; it was 42 percent altogether. So this is becoming a bad trend between the venue and us and everything. It's becoming like a Mafia. People should be able to get whatever they want for the prices that are fair." as posted on Blabbermouth.net
